Brief:

The brief for this project was to create a new Kitchen/Dining space for Ed and Jacqueline in Renmore. The existing house is an end of terrace, semi-detached unit and the kitchen was small and cramped with a tiny dining table. To achieve the brief we needed to push the boundaries in terms of design and structure. We removed the back and side wall of the existing kitchen and extended in both directions to dramatically increase space. In doing this we created some wonderful opportunities to capture sunlight and maximise solar gain. The result is a beautiful modern space filled with light that gives a new lease of life to the house. This project is a great example of how we need not be restrained by circumstance and that good architecture can be achieved even in a modest semi-D.
